We have been, and still are, involved in a wide range of projects at all levels of learning, from pre-school / kohanga reo through primary and secondary kura and kura kaupapa, and also at tertiary level.
One of the most valuable components of the school projects is the support and learning they gain from the interaction with Tahuri Whenua kaumatua and members from around the country.

In 2007 a group of students from Wellington College undertook a project on Maori bread using taewa/Maori potatoes as a base ingredient. See the report here
For several years a project known as ‘Spud in a Bucket’ has been undertaken by many schools and kura around the country. See media articles, reports and photos here.

During 2013 & 2014 we also visited Ilminster School in Gisborne who have a maara – photos
Some years students from local schools have participated in harvesting crops. Many local schools around the Manawatu and Rangitikei regions have visited the trials at the Massey University campus during the harvest time.
