International Projects.

National Maori Vegetable Growers Collective

Trips

In 2009 a group of members went on a two week trip to South America which included visits to a number of indigenous projects in Peru and to some international collaborations which we were invited to participate in.

In 2013 our Chairman participated in a tri-state variety assessment trial in the USA.  Potato breeders from Idaho, Oregon and Washington States gather annually to assess trials of several hundred lines grown on from earlier breeding trials and including some new ones.

Conferences

In February 2010 Nick Roskruge was invited to do a presentation at ATEC in Jinju in South Korea on the horticulture sector in New Zealand – including future markets.  The trip included a presentation at the local Museum of Agriculture (picture below).

In 2002 we held a stall at the Hokitika Wild Foods Festival selling taewa chips with a watercress and sour cream dip.
